The Adventures of the water coolers
Chapter 1: Once Upon A Time
Once upon a dream there was a boy water cooler named George. George was an entertainer. He was also rare. He was so rare that he thought he was the only water cooler in the world. He thought he would never have love.
One day he was shipped to a small broken down place in England called La palace. The only thing that made it like a palace was the quality of the food. When one day the La palace employees bought a girl water cooler named Rebecca. Then George thought, “Oh I knew it I am not the only water cooler in the world!” so he walked over to her and asked her to dance, she replied with a “yes” so they danced. They danced almost all night long. They had a lot of fun. Then they were very tired and went to bed and soon fell asleep.
They were fast asleep when their servants were going to get them ready for bed.
The next day they got all their chores done and had breakfast. The door suddenly burst open a guard said “Mr. Bill, make way for the king.”  Mr. Bill said “You don’t mean the king of England!” Then his question was answered when a huge elephant covered in gold silver and a whole lot of jewels. Then the king was lowered down from the elephant and he and stopped and he and Mr. Bill talked for a while though the water coolers couldn’t understand one word the two spoke. Then after what seemed like they made an agreement the king then said “bring in the great Hayacha” (hi- yaw- cha.) The earth shook terribly like an earthquake and a monster came. It looked like a 7 foot tall wind miller which what it kind of was then the King said “Hayacha is very powerful he can shoot fire and water and air from his eyes. Anything that touches his propellers gets shredded. Even if they touch someone’s feet his head gets shredded. This monster was the same one they saw on TV fighting and challenging the machines that other people made. The king said “you have to knock him down by yourselves with nothing as a weapon. If you win Mr. Bill will be the King. (Since it’s impossible.) You two will be the prince and princess, or duke and duchess. Whatever Mr. Bill chooses. All you have to do is Be ready to fight him at 5:00 AM and win.” so the water coolers stayed up all night and practiced for the next day. The next day they were up at 4:59 and ready. Then it was one minute later. Then there was a knock on the door.
Chapter two: Won Then Lost
“Open the door or we’ll open it for you”! Mr. Bill opened the door and saw an even worse monster then before! The king talked with Mr. Bill for a long time and then said “Are you ready” The Water coolers replied strongly “yes!” “Okay then, Ready…Set…Go!” The fight was on the water coolers were working together the monster was getting weaker and weaker until finally after over two hours of fighting the monster gave up and lost. The king was mourning “oh no now YOU have to be the king!” They all got to ride on the elephant for a while and while the water coolers were sleeping Mr. Bill got a couple of maids and a lot of expansions for La palace. Then they made a parade for the new king and then something bad happened. The king of France was there and took the water coolers. He took them to France in a private jet. When they landed the king took them into his palace into the monster dungeon and made them do a test to see what they did. They were more of entertainers than fighters so they were going to be entertainers. Then the king made a prisoner parade. The coolers didn’t like that at all.
The next day the king made George and Rebecca (the girl water cooler) entertain the people of France. Then the king said I’ll go get in dancing clothes but he got mixed up and went outside and started to dance in his underpants! He danced for thirty minutes wile everyone was snickering and not saying anything until a boy suddenly shouted out   “the king is dancing in his underpants!” The king looked down and screamed “aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah”. While he screamed he dashed into his house and said “Slave, get my clothes and bring them to me.” In the commotion of the king in his underpants nobody noticed two water coolers escaping in an airplane with over half of the treasure in the kingdom. Once they noticed the plane was starting off the people tried to get the water coolers back but they failed. They treasured the two years they had with them. The people of France faced the truth. George and Rebecca were gone.
Chapter three: A beginning
After George and Rebecca’s arrival La palace was way bigger and better and richer. The food was no longer the worlds best bacon and eggs but gourmet food (tur-duck-en, stuffed clams shells ect.) They were so rich they had a bank all to their selves! The water coolers were filthy rich. For a while everyone in the city was afraid of the more improved restaurant but after a while the place was booming with business. The best part about La palace was whenever Mr. Bill saw a homeless person he either gave them enough money to buy a house and get a job, or he gave them a years helping of food, or he brought them in and gave them a fully furnished room and he kept them as helpers and waitresses at  La palace.
Soon all the other restaurants in England and elsewhere started to be jealous and they wanted to be like La palace. So the rampage began. Every time La palace bought something the other stores bought it too. Then they made their food just like La palace did and they mostly copied La palace! But that just gave them less business for they knew that La palace had two things that made them the best. George and Rebecca, the Water coolers. The rampage started for the water coolers everyone was making offers for them and even tried to kidnap them. The FBI had to guard the place at night and in the day. Then someone made a water cooler it was so realistic everyone wanted to see the new water cooler. It seemed that the new water cooler was made more powerful than George and Rebecca. Everyone started to try to kidnap the new water cooler then it got kidnapped so much that it finally broke into pieces. Too small of pieces so that it couldn’t get fixed. Also the person who made it died of old age. Everything was back to normal for the coolers. The water cooler thought it was kind of strange being the center of attention. Imagine people across the world coming just to see you. It was hard on them they desperately needed to not be around people. Rebecca got sick. So they ran away. Not for forever but for a month. They left a note for Mr. Bill. Here is what it said.
Dear Mr. Bill
I’m sorry that we have to leave but all of this was too much for us we can’t live like that we have to be away from people, even you I’m sorry. But I pinkie-promise we’ll be back.
<3 George and Rebecca<3

Epilogue
After a month the water coolers came back and they did feel and look better. Business went as usual. Crazed fans, offers to buy things in the restaurant for souvenirs, it happened so much Mr. Bill opened a gift shop in one of the many, many large extra bedrooms. Life is good for the water coolers and they are fine. But that one month every year George and Rebecca go off by their selves and do whatever they want to. And it happens to be June. And always they are looking forward to it.

Poll: 2 in 5 Women Consider Parenting Single
 Gloria
  Current Event
42% of women say that they wouldn't mind raising children without a spouse. They believe that they can raise a family without a male in the house.
I don't like this. A kid needs two parents. For anyone who is saying that this generation has gone awry, remember who's raising us. Those adults want to raise us to believe that situations like this are fine. Genesis 2:24 "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." God meant for a man and woman to get married, then raise their children together.
It's another show of the ungodliness of society. The world is getting worse. Nobody listens to God's commands anymore.
The Spanish-American War
 Gloria
  History
Spain had colonies all over the world, including the Philippines. But a lot of the people in these colonies wanted freedom. People were begging America to step in and do something. So, America went to war with Spain. In the end, America got some of the Spanish colonies, including the Philippines. But, the people in the Philippines fought the Americans for three more years.

My two problems with this: First, another war. This wasn't America's fight. They were trying to help, yes, but did they need to go about it fighting? Second, the war was solved when some of the colonies came as protectorates of America. They wanted to be free, not coming under a stronger government.
Escape From Warswaw

  Reading
Escape From Warswaw is a book about four children and their arduous journey from Warswaw to Switzerland in search of their parents. The story takes place during and after World War II.
I enjoyed this book. The language and wording made some parts a bit awkward, but I enjoyed reading it. I liked how well-rounded the characters were, and how they developed. I give this book a 10/10.
Title Bout

Language Arts
Titles are important parts in a book. For example, I might have read The 39 Clues series sooner if the title of the first book wasn't Maze of Bones. I don't like reading horror stories, so I avoided the series. Finally, I decided, that since it was written by Rick Riordan, whose books weren't too terrifying, it might be worth a shot. Another example is the Maximum Ride series. One of the books in the series is named Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports. That title was very attention-catching, and made me want to read the book. This week, I got the assignment to evaluate the title of the book Snow Treasure by Marie Mcswiggan.
Snow Treasure is a book about World War II, set in a town the Germans occupied that held all of Norway's gold. The Germans weren't completely sure where the gold was in Norway, so the children of the town were able to smuggle the gold out of the city by sitting on it while they sledded out of the town, and then buried the gold in the snow.
Snow Treasure seems like an appropriate name. It's a book about a treasure that was hidden in the snow. Another name that might fit is They'll Never Suspect Children or Sledding With Gold. But I think that the name Snow Treasure is very fitting. It grabs my attention because I think "What treasure?" "Is the treasure snow?" "What goes on in this book?". I don't think that I'd want to read the book as much if it was called Smuggling Gold Out of Norway On Sleds. That gives it all away and makes it sound boring.
Through this paper, I've talked about why titles are important, and how the title Snow Treasure is a fitting name for the book. Titles always have been, and always will be, an important part of any book.

Kate
 by Christina
Kate is an energetic girl from The Good Master and The Singing Tree. She changes a lot as the time goes by, but she sticks to her mischievous ways.  She can never resist a challenge or a chance to prove a person wrong. Her story first started when she got the measles. After recovering, her father decided that some fresh air would do her good, so he sent her to his brother’s house to live with them for the summer. (Secretly, he had hoped that his brother would be able to tame the wild imp that was his daughter.) It turned out that Kate’s cousin, Jancsi, was at the receiving end of the first act that showed Kate’s ability to turn a simple horse into a wild beast with her terrifying scream, soon to be a famous act of hers.  Her next act was to show her ability to climb by going up into the rafter, and then showed her appetite by eating the sausages up in the rafters. That’s how the first day of Kate’s visit started.  But as time went by, she began to do a few of the tasks around the farm, and soon, she found herself helping with all the farm chores (except for anything to do with the pigs.) and learning to ride a horse. In The Good Master, Kate changed from a small, scrawny imp to a strong, sturdy, headstrong imp. But in The Singing Tree, the strong, sturdy imp realized she needed to stop her tomboyish acts and grow up. She stayed as stubborn as ever and always kept had a bit of an imp in her, but when her days as a little girl passed, she became a grownup.  In two books, Kate changed from a scrawny imp who always managed to get her way to a very (almost) respectable young lady.
